Broome Relief Web is a project of Canto Grande, Inc. with assistance from the parish community of St. Joseph's Church in Sanitaria Springs, N.Y. and is a member of the BAND (Broome Area Networking in Disaster) coalition.BRW has a special alliance with the Quaranta Housing Services Center which is based at Opportunities for Chenango in Norwich, N.Y. The staff at the Quaranta Center have developed their skills over a fifteen year period of helping people with a wide variety of home ownership and home rehab/repair issues. Founded in 1991, Canto Grande, Inc. has focused on issues related to U.S. & Latin America solidarity, social & economic egalitarianism, deep democracy, and non-violent conflict resolution. With the advent of the 2006 floods in Broome County, resources were developed to assist our flood effected neighbors, which will remain committed for the duration of the long-term-recovery period. In addition to the help from our volunteers and donors - we are grateful for the support from the Southern Tier Labor and Community Aid foundation.
